Finis Dake used the theological term “Omnipresence” in his writings and applied that term to God. So does that settle the matter? No! Dake often uses traditional theological terms like God being Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient. The problem is that in his published works for every attribute of God, Dake re-defined all of these terms giving them his meaning and teaching the opposite of what the terms actually mean when discussed by Christian scholars.
Finis Dake taught that God is not everywhere present. He is according to Dake everywhere present where people ‘know’ Him in the sense of their reflecting on Him and thinking of Him (not that He is actually there). According to Finis Dake, God is confined to a physical planet just like earth in a far universe and can only be in one place at one time just like any other human or being that has a physical body. The following links will go into greater depth exploring what Omnipresence actually means, and then look at the many, many ways Dake rejects this teaching about God’s nature.
For Dake his idea of God being present is exactly the same as how your wife, husband or family member who lives in another state might say they can ‘feel’ your presence when they think about you. Dake did NOT believe God was actually present there. But maybe he meant the Holy Spirit was present with them? No, because Dake also taught that the Holy Spirt, God the Father, and Jesus all have bodies (which are confined to only one place at a time), spirits and souls (as well as ALL of the body parts you and I have).
