There are a few folks that have defended Finis Dake and His teachings. Sadly, most of those that have defended Finis Dake, and his publications do so by taking Dake out of context. What generally happens is they will look for a few passages or notes that appear to support an orthodox view of a particular biblical doctrine and state that Dake is orthodox as a result. What they do not do is look at all of Dake’s teachings on a particular topic. As an example, Dake often will use conservative biblical theological terms such as Omniscience, Trinity, and Omnipresence, but then in other notes or books Dake will reinterpret the meaning of those words to mean something entirely different. To understand Dake, you must understand what he actually means by various theological terms, not what Christians normally mean by those terms.
This might make some people upset because Dake is almost worshipped by some (his followers can become very aggressive online), but this is often a sign of cultic beliefs and practices. The main responses listed below are my responses to the Dake follower and author, Leon Bible. I will be responding to several articles he has written online as well as in his book, “Finish Jennings Dake: His Life and Ministry.” (Dake Publishing, 2006).
Below are some of the articles:
